This entry is difficult to spot coming from Auckland, but what looks like someone's private farm is part house part farm part shared bush trek. Have the tramp is via someone's farm which isn't that fun but once you get to the forest bit it all becomes worth it. 30mins of dirty farm walking and 35mins of forest walking up steep hills and narrow ridges. Pretty moderate hike but just muddy and wet slows you down. Takes longer getting back from the lookout point as its slippery. Hiking pole would have come in handy. Great views of farmland and sea.
