Stephanie is a good communicator, an experienced Barrister & was able to clearly capture the relevant details of my financial situation (after my ex spent every penny he could borrow in my name). Stephanie produced a detailed lengthy Memorandum of Understanding to confirm the list of my ex partner's demands, prior to producing a very thorough & detailed Relationship Property Settlement Agreement. My ex partner had agreed to terms for almost 12months & then (predictably) when he was again given everything he asked for, he wanted my business name too, my Intellectual Property!! Although I initially spoke to Stephanie on the phone, there was no free 'meet&greet' like with other solicitors, at $450+GST I was charged over $1000.00 for our first meeting! Just be aware of the HUGE expense this process will be, & 5years after Separation I have no Legal Representative, being impoverished by my ex partner's debts. My home was ordered to be sold by the family court, while I was stuck in Hospital after surgery for 2mths!! :( Although Stephanie never really counted our joint business as an asset, I invested over $70,000 & 5yrs labour into it, and made multiple changes to our Separation Agreement based on what my ex partner wanted, she did this with good intentions to potentially save my home & settle as promptly as possible, saving money & time & trauma....!!? I paid over $10,000 and got nowhere unfortunately. This was entirely the fault of my ex partner continuously asking for MORE & MORE & MORE, although he never invested a cent & keeps his "separate property" in Brasil!! :( I applaud Stephanie for working in such an unpleasant & acrimonious aspect of NZ Law ie Family Law & Relationship Property. She is informative, direct, pragmatic & worth the $ if you can afford representation. I also applaud Stephanie as a mother, juggling a tribe of children & her own previous relationship separation, within a stressful, challenging, confrontational area of Law, & with all of the responsibility that goes with it as a Barrister & officer of The NZ Courts.
