Smiths - Matakana

Delicious food and great cocktails. We had such a fun afternoon here. Heaps of thing for the kids to do to keep them entertained whilst the adults had a catch up. This is the second time we have had a get together at Smiths and we will definitely be back again.

Such an awesome spot but as everywhere you can see the price of food affecting quality. We have had the pig and chook before and it was the pizza I had ever had. Was so excited to have it again and it was more basic than a dominos pizza. We didn't even finish it. The steak board sounded amazing on the menu. But the thick sinew casing bit hadn't been removed and the sauce was not chimichurri but like a green pesto without the flavour of pesto and the rocket has no dressing. The crispy cauliflower was not crispy - again have had it before and it was different. The sticky kumara and chicken were still the same and delicious. Still and awesome place with great service!!I

Best curry ever had in New Zealand. Out of everything we tried, murgh makhani was the best. Perfectly balanced and not too spicy. The way they present the Pappad is beautiful. Bao buns, korean fried chicken and off course the curry is the best. So yum .
