DBS Residential

Dan from DBS told us verbally our retrofit for our double glazing would cost $10,000. This was after going over the project in person, sending through the window schedule and him having documentation for our project for over a month. He asked us to pay a deposit of $4,500 for materials and we did. We waited for a quote and when it came back, with a couple of small extras, the quote came in at $178,000. We quite obviously turned down the offer and asked for our deposit for the materials back minus a steel beam that had been ordered. Since then Dan from DBS has withheld out $4,500 to date despite declining the quote a month ago. He is keeping our money until we agree to pay him $2,000 for providing us the quote we have declined. Until we agree to pay Dan $2,000 for the quote he is not paying back any of the $4,500. We have had to refer this matter to the disputes tribunal as a last resort to try to get our funds back from Dan.

It felt safe to work with a local team with good reviews. Steve and Josh came up with a good solution for new access and a storage room under the house, making the most of the space They listened to our ideas and delivered an excellent new room. When drainage became an issue they stuck with us to devise a solution. I wouldn't hesitate to use their services in the future.

We contracted Dan and his team for our deck renovation project as the old deck has some H&S concerns. We ended up not only with a nice new deck but also having some rotten timbers removed around the house and part of the tilted floor remade. Now I can be confidently living in my house without having to worry about safety. Dan and his team are knowledgeable about the work process and they have the patience and skills to explain this process to non-handy people like me. Appreciate the help. Strongly recommended!

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with DBS residential. We had contracted them to carry out a renovation on our home. Embarrassingly the owner called me the wrong name throughout the 6 months I dealt with him and then after council consent proceeded to give us a fixed quote that was 60% higher than his estimate. We went with another company who was more affordable and professional. I would not recommend this building company to anyone.
