Peter Raos Studio Gallery

A long overdue review, but here we go... My wife and I purchased an exquisite blue lily vase in 1997 in Christchurch, a Peter Raos piece. It was a memento of our honeymoon. Fast forward to 2017, we were visiting Auckland and discovered the gallery in Devonport. On entry, we met the man himself who showed us around the gallery and spoke at length about his creative journey. We left after purchasing another vase and a paperweight which have joined the lily vase as treasured items. Each piece is unique and the series are limited runs of colour and incredible detail. The craftsmanship is incredible and the service genuine. Raos glassware has a treasured place in our life's journey.

Gee-zus there is some talent here in NZ. If you need a very special keepsake to give as a present this is where you can start the hunt; chances are your hunt finishes there with an incredible purchase of Jewellery or Art Glass. For the enviromentalist that is in your life and has everything (?) the paper weights are out of this world.

Just went to the shop today, asking for a small help. as my phone was about to die and I was not having the charger on me. The gentleman did have the right charger but still kept on telling me thats not similar to mine, even after I said it is the same after looking at his phone. all he said its a different one. I mean "wow" how could someone be so not willing to help. I also mentioned I won't be able to reach home without my GPS and I just work right in the building front of this shop. my reason to give 5 stars is that, I don't want to make the rating go down just because of this petty thing. As I am 100% sure this gentleman must be really good at his art. just be a wee bit considerate toward someone in need, it could be anyone may be even in more critical situation. Thank you.

It's always a great experience for me to visit Peter Raos Gallery. It' s my chance to communicate directly with the artist which is something to be valued, especially if you are interested in his work. It's easy to find this gallery on Google maps. Just opposite the ferry building in Devonport in Auckland.
