After a bad experience with Sylvia I mentioned this to my GP who was immediately horrified and asked if it was anyone in her medical centre that referred me (it wasn't). Turns out they get so many complaints about Sylvia they have a clinic wide policy of never referring any of their patients to her.

Dr. Sylvia is highly professional and a best Gynaecologist. I was lucky to have Dr. Sylvia as my obstetrician for my recent pregnancy. She was very conscious at each stage of pregnancy and has given me best advise from weight management to other pregnancy related issues. The whole delivery process went well and she made me feel comfortable even during delivery procedure which was stunning. I am very much satisfied regarding the services Dr. Sylvia and her staff gave during this time. Thank you so much Dr. Sylvia for always being there and looking after me in a best professional way during this time. You are very kind hearted and an amazing person. God bless you always.

I was in labour for 6 hours and the entire time Dr Rosevear was grumpy, inconvenienced, and sullen about the fact that she had to be there late at night. When she first saw me she said she predicted the baby will be born in an hour. When it took longer she complained that I was "taking too long" and that "this isn't normal." She pushed me to be induced and when I hesitated she was annoyed and said "It's already not a natural birth because you had an epidural." I asked her what was the medical reason for an induction and she only repeated that it had to be done quickly. She argued until I reluctantly agreed - it's difficult to debate with a doctor when you're in labour. But each time she was visibly irritated that the induction didn't speed things up as much. At one point she sighed and said "well I might as well go and work on my shopping list" before exiting the room in a huff. Another time she glared at me mid contraction and said "I really should have been home hours ago. You're taking way too long." About 4 hours into the labour she threatened to do a c-section if I wasn't ready to push the next time she came to check on me. My husband asked why was a c-section medically necessary and she only said it was because things were taking too long. It was clear there was no medical reason for a c-section, she just wanted to go home because it was late evening and she was impatient. (I asked another doctor to review later who confirmed it was a totally normal delivery where a c-section would not have been justified.) By the time my baby was born Dr Rosevear was incredibly angry, yelling at the midwives to work quicker. When my husband was cutting the umbilical cord Dr Rosevear snapped at him "just CUT IT!!!" because he wasn't fast enough. The entire labour I felt rushed and scared because Dr Rosevear kept repeating how it was taking too long when in reality that was just normal! At one point my husband even considered telling Dr Rosevear to just go home because I was so upset and in tears. During my hospital stay several midwives came over to tell me I wasn't the first patient to complain about Dr Rosevear, that she had a reputation for not treating women very well. One even said, "I don't know why Sylvia doesn't just retire - it's obvious she hates her job." My GP also confirmed they reported similar issues with Dr Rosevear. Interestingly I have a friend who had Dr Rosevear delivery her baby who arrived midday during the week, and said she wasn't so rude and rushing as she was with me. Maybe Dr Rosevear is okay with mothers who give birth during business hours but gets annoyed and inconvenienced with those who disturb her outside of 9-5? I also add that I was under maternal mental health care during my pregnancy due to a traumatic birth of my older child; which Dr Rosevear knew about. So I was shocked that she was so rude and unprofessional during my labour. She turned what should have been a special, memorable experience into a nightmare. It has been years since I had the misfortune of having her as my obstetrician and I still feel upset. Giving birth alone on the side of the road would have been a better experience than wasting so much money to have a doctor who spent most of her time with me snapping at me and telling me to hurry up so she could go home.

Sylvia delivered my first baby boy 25 years ago and then 2 years ago (when I was a much older Mum to be) delivered my little girl and just 9 weeks ago my baby boy. I put my trust in Sylvia and she has been amazing. I recommended Sylvia to many others 25 years ago and have continued to do so. She is simply the best
