I went into this shop looking for a gift for my sister, and the customer servicewell lack there of, was nothing short of abysmal. Not only did they completely ignore my presence in their shop but there were 2 employees standing around gossiping and saying nasty things , Ive never felt more unwelcome in a retail store ever before. Also, reading the other reviews highlighting the subtle racism from your staff completely validated my experience as a Maori woman in your shop, and will never be coming back. Its such a shame, theres such beautiful things in there.

Makes me wonder why they didn't have a "WH*TES ONLY" sign outside, as it could have spared me from having a very unpleasant experience. The salesperson made a point of blatantly ignoring me even when I was standing right next to her; then saying hello to the white person coming in through the door. The best part? Only two customers in the shop (though it looked as if I didn't exist in their eyes). A stellar example of what racial micro-aggression looks like in Aotearoa.
