A surf store that sells resort wear, and poorly manufactured at that. Odd odd place.

As the lady below me said, I would give zero stars if I could. Extremely rude. One staff member was lovely, the other (older, blonde hair) was extremely pushy, rude, unhelpful and totally overbearing of staff and customers. I was walking on egg shells with this woman from the second I entered the store and her rude tone and attitude was very intimidating. Several times I stated I was just looking and continued to have sales pushed on me which I was not interested in. When I politely denied a dress I didn't like which was also not worth its price, I was told to go to the recycled clothing store where I could "find something I can afford". It was never about the money, I simply didn't like anything in the store and certainly won't waste money on something I am not in love with! 100% would not recommend, I refuse to support a business with such a miserable attitude towards customers. I have never had such a rude retail experience.

Last Tuesday 26th of January I visited the Ponsonby store around 3:15pm and at the beginning I was looked after by a lovely lady and even purchased a beautiful dress. After paying I asked about swimming suits and the lovely lady told me that her colleague was the specialist. I explained to the second lady that I needed something with good breast support as I am a size 14 or 16 and have a DD cup and she started showing me some options until I checked the price which was $250 and told her I was looking for an option of up to $150. After that everything changed, she told me that I would not find anything for my kind of shape in the store (with a derogatory tone) and that if I wanted something cheap I should go to Farmers, KMART or a second hand shop. She was very rude and discriminatory with regards to my shape and I am not sure if she treats people from NZ in the same way too! I am originally from Chile and have lived in NZ for the last 12 years. Also, suggesting KMART or a second hand shop to buy a swimming suit after I explained that I wanted to spend $150 which for many of the low income families is quite a lot of money frankly is unacceptable! If she didn't have anything for $150, she could have said it! But instead telling me that for that price I should go and look even in a second hand is unbelievable! I felt discriminated against, insulted and left the store crying. Also, when I was leaving she told me that I should use lay-by options if I couldn't afford the store. As I said before, one of the ladies offered extraordinary customer service which was totally ruined by the experience with the second one. I have never been treated like that in my whole life and will never recommend anyone going to your Ponsonby store.
