Paris Butter

Went on a Monday night just before Anzac Day - it is hard to find a fine dining restaurant open in Auckland on a Monday at the best of times. So we were very fortunate they were trialling Monday openings. It was quiet but the restaurant has an excellent ambiance. Tables are well spaced and I loved the chandeliers, curtains and comfy chairs. The service was impeccable - I do not know what they could have done better. The food was magnificent - we did the 4 course degustation. The starting dish described as "snacks" was 5, small but very flavoursome, canapes. This was followed by a trevally dish, then a snapper dish before the main course of duck. Each dish was a work of art and full of many different flavours. We did the wine match which I would also recommend. Will definitely be returning to Paris Butter - one of the city's best.

I had been to Paris Butter once last year and was very impressed by their Degustation Menu. I took my friends to try their Evolution Menu the other evening and was somewhat disappointed. The duck leg / nam jim / celeriac was very salty and the sourdough was hard. The rest was of high quality. Service was excellent as always.
