        Going down to the dis used dam is the only part of the track which is open. The rest is closed due to Kauri dieback.

        I visited 8 months ago on a rainy Waitakere day but that didn't dampen(pun intended) what there was to see an easy 5-10 minute walk if you don't things to photograph on the way like the spider webs we found absolutely awesome highly recommended before tackling the Dam walk which I'll be doing either in 2021 or 2022
