        United North, located towards the northen end of piha beach, offers a safe place to swim (between the flags). Treat this beach with a healthy dose of respect. Conditions in the surf can look falsely benign. Listen to the life guards respect their knowledge andyou'll make it back home safe. These guards here are terrific at what they do!

        Went for a school trip as a parent helper and was impressed by the 4 young ladies who were the lifeguards for the hours we were there. They were alert and always looking out for the children. They interacted well with keeping the children entertained.
