        Ngati Awa ki Tamaki Makaurau O Mataatua Marae. Powhiri for Hui Takataapui 2022, 3 day Hui is already outstanding!!! The sun shone brightly throughout the "no fuss" heartfelt, gallant and warm welcoming! This was a clear indication of things to come like the well kept, peace provoking grounds and the instant feeling of belonging is so that I took my shoes off almost immediately and relished in being one with the Whenua, the Marae, the Tangata Whenua. The facilities are well placed, practical and Clean, Clean, Clean!!! I love Marae that are not "showy" but are very proud of what they do have and have Pono people to back it all up! Can't wait for tomorrow as I haven't entered the whare nui yet on purpose. All in good time....
