The birthing unit made this whole experience wonderful, plenty of experience and expert knowledge. Nurses on call 24/7 are a great place to welcome your new arrival

I gave birth here 5 weeks ago and cannot recommend it enough :) My midwives Dianne, Hillary, and Ellen were so wonderful and I was able to have the natural water birth that I wanted. The rooms are lovely and being able to have my partner stay the night was so special. Thank you so much!

I had my first child here march 2022. My midwife amanda was just as amazing as all the team there. Thank you donna for helping that night. My experience as well as my husbands experience was like no other. They really helped you every step of the way which we will always remember. Every birth journey is different and the love you are surrounded with here is really something we will always be grateful for.

I had my first child at the Nga Hau birthing centre. As well as my check ins with my midwives. My overall experience, it was positively memorable besides active labour lol. My midwives were Dianne and Dinah and they were the absolute best! For first time parents, they allowed my husband and I to stay 4 nights as I was struggling with breastfeeding trying to get a good latch with my daughter. There were different midwives available each day and always came to check in different times throughout the day, and be able to comfort me when I was feeling overwhelmed. Just knowing that Nga Hau was purposely for new mothers/ mothers made me feel like it was okay to feel the way I was feeling. Labour was traumatising and when my daughter was born I had stitches that needed to be stitched by a doctor. So I was taken in an ambulance to Middlemore hospital. Dinah was with me throughout the night and made sure I was ok. I gave birth 10.30am and was in Middlemore 2hrs later. Dianne took over and came with me inside the ambulance and made sure I was ok as I spent those few mins without my hubby and daughter. She made sure to tell my husband to meet us there so that I wouldnt miss out bonding time with baby. She was adamant in getting me back to Nga Hau so I could have the best care and I am so grateful she did because having my husband by my side the whole time with our daughter was a blessing. As much as Nga Hau was beautiful itself and made us feel so comfortable having our own private room etc. It really was the amazing midwives/staff that made the experience much more amazing and if I was still in Auckland I would have definitely had my second child there. Thank you.
