Small Kauri Early Childhood Education Centre

We are SO PLEASED we decided to visit Small Kauri after a friend (also a teacher) recommended it to us. 10 years ago when I was looking for a daycare for my eldest daughter I foolishly judged Small Kauri by it's outside appearance. I thought a fancy looking building and a place that everyone else was going to was going to be the best option so I didn't even visit Small Kauri :( I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. My youngest daughter is getting the most amazing early childhood learning experiences at Small Kauri. The staff are SO EXPERIENCED and qualified They have been working together for years and there is an incredible synergy to how they work and trust each other which creates a WONDERFUL calm and engaging environment. It's not flash, it's not purpose built but it is the most amazing place. The children explore and have uninterrupted play - it's all seemingly effortless and yet the skill and expertise of the staff is underpinning everything. They take the children down to the tree climbing park, they cook sausages on open fires, they build flying foxes, there are books and stories are read throughout the day to children when they want it (which is sometimes multiple times a day). Our daughter has flourished and thrived in such an engaging and also appropriately challenging and therefore stimulating environment. Please read the absolutely glowing ERO report. A few of us parents are teachers which I think is really interesting. We value the conversations, the questions, the uninterrupted play, the indoor outdoor flow, the rich literacy and the experienced and qualified staff. Don't make the same mistake I did ten years when I judged a book by it's cover. Pop in, stay awhile and watch the wonder.

Small Kauri has been a great help to our family. When I got sick and partially paralysed, we had to put our two sons in a childcare centre and we are so fortunate to have found Small Kauri. All educators have made our family feel that we are welcome and they have made us confident that our precious ones have been looked after so lovingly. Thank you very much, Small Kauri, for welcoming our family to your lovely centre and for giving our sons a second real home!
