Very poor, no effort made to contact me. Needing extra treatment, I have not heard anything. Paying for treatment myself. Never like dealing with ACC or WellNZ.

Ive provided professional services for one of their clients, despite reading the poor reviews of this company prior to engaging, simply for the sake of the client and his best interest. As expected, it has been difficult to deal with this company. None of the invoices submitted have been paid out. Communication is limited at best. My experience with this company seems to be consistent with negative reviews from others noted below. If you can avoid dealing with this company, you should avoid it at all cost in my view.

The worst company in NZ they just don't want to take any blame for the company or pay for your claims. Just want u to return back to work as if nothing happened. They don't even worry for the staff they just worry about the company and their pockets

Absolutely upset over what's happened with my claim. First of all my work related accident occured in Feb 2021. It has taken several appointments with two different specialists (selected by WellNZ) over almost two years, for WellNZ to finally accept my claim except they won't back pay me to the date that the injury occured. Why? Because my GP didn't fill out one of 'their' medical certificates correctly. As if that wasn't bad enough, WellNZ contacted Work and income (WINZ) without notifying me to tell them that they will be paying me from 24/10/22 so WINZ cut off my benefit. I have yet to receive any payment from WellNZ so have now missed my rent and am starving because I've run out of food 24hrs ago! I contacted my case manager at WellNZ to ask what is delaying my payments from them and she said it's because she needed my tax code and IRD number so I provided her with those details. She replied that she's walking that information over to payroll. The very next day, there's still no money in my account so I contact her again. She doesn't reply so I call WINZ for an emergency food grant. WINZ decline me on the basis that I need proof from WellNZ to state they haven't paid me yet and when to expect payment from them. At the end of the business day, my case manager responds saying she is sorry that this is happening and she will forward my email to the weekly compensation team. I try to call WINZ back immediately but by then it is already 5.20pm and WINZ have a call wait time of 106 minutes so their automated voicemail says to call back tomorrow. I am in NZ where this isn't supposed to happen. By tomorrow I would have gone 2 days without food. If I wasn't so determined to get what I am owed, I would have not pursued this at all. However, if you are like me and stay determined, I encourage you to set money aside to prepare for a long battle with these guys as well as cover you on the weeks that they get your benefit suspended. I will be getting back paid from July 2021 but it's not as significant as I hoped because they deduct my benefit from what they owe me (being a government agency also). It appears that they won't be paying me 80% of my wages either so the difference between them and what I was getting from WINZ is a mere $49 per week and I'm a registered nurse! I won't know if this was all worth it until they get off their arses and actually pay me. Update: It turns out that it was not entirely WellNZ that were at fault with my particular case. My ex employer where my accident occurred had been dragging their arses calculating what they will need to pay me so that WellNZ were able to top up that payment. My WellNZ case manager had worked tirelessly today trying to sort it out before we hit the weekend without me having food. Almost at the end of the business day, I received a deposit from my ex employer. Regarding my ex employer - They had made it so difficult for me on my last days working for them by wanting weekly meetings with both my charge nurse manager and a doctor from our occupational health team. I knew that it wasnt necessary meeting with both even though my charge nurse insisted it was. She knew it was hard for me to meet with her and Occ health separately each week while trying to recover from my injury AND pancreatitis that had me in ICU for 6 days followed by a month in hospital, so I felt I had no choice and handed in my resignation. I've only just realised that this was probably to prevent any annual leave from accumulating as well as my annual pay rise from happening which automatically occurs on my yearly anniversary. Sadly for them, I am going to need surgery on my shoulder that they will now have to help pay for as well as a weekly compensation AND a year and a half of back pay. I am not going to name my ex employer but it is a DHB. This is how nurses are treated in NZ. Absolutely shameful!
