The cleaning result was fine. The technician was fine. BUT I had a bunch of disappointments along the way, mainly because of the false advertising, which led to it being an unsettling and stressful experience. The steam-n-dry website says that that it has a 10 step process, when actually the technician only did two of those steps, and was unaware of the other steps until I showed him them on the website. (More below). The website also says that it takes 1-6 hours to dry. But in our house, in summer, with all the windows and doors open, it took about 30 hours to dry. Here is the process they said they'd follow, from their website menu option carpet cleaning > carpet cleaning service: The Process 1. Inspect your carpets to ensure the best cleaners method also results. 2. Treat spots and also carry out stain removal as necessary. 3. Dry Vacuum. 4. Superior Truck mounted steam machines, remove the cleaner solution, and soil. Leaving carpet as dry as possible including flood clean up drying to Auckland Council guidelines. 5. Move furniture as required 6. Rake carpeting piles up after the cleaner to align fibres for even appearance. 7. Re-treat spots, stain removal when necessary. 8. Apply Teflon stain protection (when requested) too. 9. We dont move large, heavy furniture. 10. Also, placing coasters under furniture legs to protect carpets during the drying process. What happened: the technician came in with his steam cleaner and immediately started connecting it up (no inspections or anything like that). I said - what about the vacuuming? He said "we ask the customer to do it". I said "no, I wasn't asked, and actually your website says you will do it". After some discussion on this, I showed him the website. He said he'd contact his boss and get it fixed because no-one in the company did this, and moreover it wasn't actually necessary to vacuum first. I said that many websites said it was necessary, otherwise some dirt gets caked to the bottom of the carpet. In the end, I rushed around vacuuming the house, while he began on the areas that had most recently been vacuumed. Only very light furniture was moved. (I know this because by accident I left a tissue under some furniture that I discovered later.) No coasters were placed. 30 hours later our house was back to order. I waited a few days to see if the boss had got around to removing the false information on their website before posting this, but it hasn't yet been corrected. Service: General carpet cleaning
