Habitat Tours

Wow!! What a fabulous day I had last Saturday. The Habitat Tours' Day / Night tour was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Our guide, Tristan, is extremely knowledgeable (and a really fun person as well!). He's very easy going, approachable and has a wonderful sense of humour, as well as being so organised. I know that being able to see all the endangered birds on the 'wish list' is not guaranteed but, with Tristan's incredibly skilled guidance, we managed to see not only two kiwis (they're SO much bigger than I had imagined), but other rare birds including saddlebacks and takahe, as well! What fun it was creeping along the track with our red light headlamps on the night section of the tour! Haha - how DID Tristan manage to keep a bunch of chatty people quiet as we walked along the track? And - I haven't even mentioned the amazing picnic dinner we enjoyed... Thank you, Pamela!! Had a great wildlife tour with Habitat. Tristan was an excellent guide and accommodated my scheduled without issue. Tristan knew where to find the bird activity. Though we didnt see any kiwi on this trip, we heard them and did find an owl! I would book again if I find myself in Auckland again.

We went on the afternoon/evening Nature and Kiwi Tour in the hope of seeing kiwis and we saw two! Also lots of other interesting birds and wildlife including a close view of a morepork owl, two New Zealand dottrels, a longfin eel confusingly known locally as a "tuna", wetas, a kaka, and saddlebacks. The picnic evening meal was tasty and Tristan our guide was very knowledgeable. Pam was super helpful with facilitating our booking and we are very happy to recommend Habitat Tours.

Had the most amazing experience thanks to our tour guide Tristan. We were educated and entertained about NZ birds and wildlife. The food on the tour was incredible too. A beautiful experience and fantastic way to see Auckland.
