Lovely walks along the beach front, bathroom & seating facilities great.

Great park to stroll , with a small 5 minute walk bush track which is flat and always quiet, rarely see anybody on it. Has the bee garden with various shrubs and plants , ... lavender etc. There are 5 or 6 sculptures to see as you walk through the park. My favorite are 2 carved Rocks. One is a Taniwha (water monster in the Maori folklore) the other is a few metres away another Maori inspired rock carving a beautifully detailed seat for two. My absolute favorite place to sit and take in the islands fresh air , with little or no disturbances as it's off the track slightly. I'm there day or night, has a magical spiritual vibe. The park is on the edge of the village so getting there is with no effort. I have only one little adverse comment, which is a tree with it's trunk growing across part of the path , and because I like to wear a cap when walking I have failed to see it , resulting in 2 hits to the head on 2 separate occasions. After 2 times, I guess I became aware from then so there has never been a 3rd time. People I have seen along the way are very friendly, I can say a 100 percent track record for passerby greetings , having saying that the people are few. Apart from my 2 head ,,(I admit they were my own fault) hits it's the safest park I have ever frequented. I recommend this park especially because of it's serenity and peacefulness. A nice little getaway from the sometimes very crowded village.
