My mother has been a resident in this facility for some time. It has not been a good experience since the new owners took over. I do not recommend this facility at all. 1. You receive calls from staff who do not speak english as a first language. It is often impossible to discover they are even calling from Craigweil House until they mention your loved ones name in equally broken english - How can staff like this communicate with the residents? -- the calls worry you because you are concerned that something might have happened --- Its almost unintelligible garble and the latest call was just this week 2. My mother lost around about 20% of her body weight whilst the new owners took over and almost the entire staff was changed (the original staff often quit). No one noticed that my mother was not eating........ think that over. She is apparently on extra feeding up to this day but has not recovered her weight 2 years later. 3. The complete lack of security. Up until COVID anyone could walk in and talk to any patient or take them out without signing in or identifying them selves. Think that over folks, I just walked in and went to find my mother. I just walked out with her. COVID has changed that but I am willing to bet it will all go back to normal afterwards because it is cheaper. Part of this is the change in staff and different shifts. 3. Money ------ they want to sting you at every step. Once the unintelligible garble on the phone was about my mother having a fall. My mother has a fall history, along with consequent broken bones, and the unintelligible garble did not know that. I told them to call a doctor, they arranged a mobile xray unit and sent me the bill ----- Next time I will call an ambulance 4. File notes and awareness of residents special needs --- My mother has a special fear but every staff member makes it worse because they do not bother to read the file..... and the staff change often........ this is a direct lack of care So, in summary, we are currently trapped there with my mother but do not recommend this facility to anyone at all. NOTE: The loss of weight concern is noted with her doctor (I made an appointment and went to see her doctor in person so it is well documented) who told me I could complain to the health authority.... but I did not, thinking this would be all and it was fixed. All other comments are direct experiences, the unintelligible garble has been raised with Craigweil but still continues and has also been experienced by other witnesses when Craigweil calls my home. --- all of this is direct first hand experience.
