Aum has done a great job of capturing the spirit of the the dance music festival. There is a diverse crowd from first timers to dedicated burners and everyone in between. The main stage has a range of genres from psy, DnB and techno. The Kanuka stage plays deep rolling house, hosted by the LoFi crew. The hill stage is also hosted by external crews with various dance genres. And the Hub stage caters for bands, live performances, children's events, and the world famous unicorn gathering, hosted by the fabulous Gwendolyn. There is lots of room for camping with friends and most times you can park next to your tent. The toilets are OKish, they are continually upgrading the facilities so hopefully the toilets continue to improve This isn't the RnV or Northern Bass crowd, there are a lot of older attendees who where in the scene back in the 90s who embody the spirit of PLUR. Definitely recommend if you don't want to hang out with a bunch of drunk kids :D

AUM festival is the perfect choice for new years eve and a break away combining the camping experience with a variety of good music and the dance party vibe. There is easy access to food and drink stalls and other boutique stalls selling everything from clothes and sunglasses to crystals and gemstones and a whole load of stuff you're not likely to find at your generic city mall. They have hot showers but the waiting time can be a while. Its promoted as child friendly which it is but theres not that many young ones but those that there are seems to enjoy themselves They don't sell alcohol so its BYO but there is a strict NO glass rule at the event. Basically load up the chilli bin with ice and whatever and your good to go. It Sold out this year so don't leave it until the week before to get tickets if your planning on going.

About to embark on my 5th Aum festival. I love what these guys do. They make it all about the happy people, family and inclusive vibes, non commercial, hot showers, zero waste policy, so much art everywhere, immersion and in nature. 3 days for camping, chilled days watching circus arts and partaking in yoga, barefeet wandering, costumes, dancing and getting away from city life. High quality sounds and stages and manaakitanga (caring for the environment). Thank you, Aum. See you soon

Aum NYE is probably the best event of the summer festival season in NZ. The music, sound and lighting is incredible and the people and vibe are amazing too. I have been to three of them now. Outside of a burner event you wont find a more friendly bunch of people.

This was one of my absolute favorite festivals during my time living in NZ. Im so happy to have been introduced to this amazing community through my partner who has been attending AUM since its debut year. It was full of great workshops and interactive activities. My favorite was the communal painting board which I spent about half a day at. The NYE night was magical and colorful. The food options were decent. The only downside is the long lines that form for the cold and hot showers. I cant wait to attend again in the future if Im ever back in NZ.
