We have been trying to get hold of the National Manager for months, and months and months now but with no luck, I only get through to voicemail and my emails remain unseen, maybe they have gone to spam? I have a large bespoke project in Wanaka which I am wanting to achieve a Homestar 10 rating, the home will be 300m2. Edit: I have just learnt of previous lawsuits against said National Manager and Green Homes NZ mother company and we will not be proceeding with Green Homes. This is big warning signal of things to come.

After enquiring about an advertised house/land package, my wife and I were given an estimated price range and paid a deposit based on an agreement that they would provide a package at the upper end of this range. After going through four months of tweaking plans they could (or would) not deliver. Not even close. Reasons were given one after another, placing blame with my wife and me even though we had been committed to their process and pared back on almost everything to cut costs. We were disappointed to walk away, declining the much more expensive proposals. We asked for our deposit back (declined) and my wife wrote an online review about our experience which, quite honestly, had been bizarre. Our review was similar to other reviews; GHNZ had obviously been through this before. At this stage, we hoped they would recognize that something is clearly not right and would want to investigate what was happening within their business, looking at their processes and communication with clients. Perhaps even consult some experts in the field. They could use the reviews as a starting point for reflection. Did they do this? Probably not. Over a month after we had walked away, John requested to talk with us a second time but there was nothing more to say from our end, just a deposit to get refunded, which he was/is refusing to pay. Next I received an email from Stephanie. The latter part of it read: ...Having worked with H (and yourself) for over 3 months it is in the publics (sic) best interests for me to respond publicly to this Google Review about H- I am very concerned that she is working [in x profession] it will be an honest review from my experience having worked with her. But I am giving you a chance to talk to her prior to doing this as I am a fair person....If you dont wish for me to publicly Review H online, 1. I expect you to take Johns/my Managers phone call to discuss closure 2. Cancel all damaging google reviews 3. Retract the Disputes Tribunal Hearing I await your response S otherwise I will be writing this online response to Hs review tomorrow. Sincerely, Stephanie. This is a direct copy and paste. I then informed Stephanie (via email again) that I wholeheartedly support my wifes views and feel exactly the same way. I informed her; If fairness, honesty, boundaries, standing up for what you believe in and looking out for other people are not good traits to have [in x profession], then I do not know what is. Stephanie emailed back; Thank you for making your position clear. For the record, you have twisted everything in your email below but I intend on wasting no further time re-explaining already far too much time has been wasted. I will write my response publicly and we will see you in court our Lawyers have been informed. (also for the record this is personal my home town is [where you live] and I have family and friends who are [same profession as your wife] there. Its a small town!) Again a direct copy and paste. This email exchange gave us an uneasy feeling. We would like to mention that in our opinion this behaviour is far from professional.
