Nearby activities: Parnell Street is a quaint and charming walk where you will find several unique shops. Add another 10 minutes to go to the incredible Auckland War Memorial Museum. It's more than just war displays. It has an amazing Maori display and the kids will love all the natural history exhibits. Catch a short bus or train ride to the shops of Newmarket. The rooftop at Westfield Market has several restaurants surrounded by trees and lights. Walkability: We relied on public transportation for everything. There a bus stops right outside the property so it's very easy to get to the CBD of Auckland. Food & drinks: The walk to the Parnell Street shops and restaurants was about a 12-15 walk. Be sure to ask Susan for the easier route to get there (a little longer, but not so hilly). Evererst Dine and the 3 Nutmegs were two of our favorite places.
