The Good Home Pukekohe

Took our "nana" out for her 70th. Waitresses were lovely and service was prompt. Menu was straightforward, nothing radical or particularly awe inspiring. My partner and Nana had the rib eye steak and I had the chicken cabonara. The pasta was nice without being exceptional ...i ate it all. Drinks were drinks, except I paid $16 for a pint of beer!? (Panhead). The biggest issue was the x2 rib eye meals. They came with a handful of chips, 6 onion rings and a couple of sauces in little containers......that was it? No veges, no salad nothing AND they charged $48 per steak!! We spent $186 on 3 meals anyone could have prepared at home for around $50!! Atrocious! This is price gouging at its worse! I guess some businesses think they can get away with it in small cut off communities ....choices being thinner on the ground. Ambiance was ordinary with very much the sports bar feel with a muddled tired interior. We all chatted and didn't fuss....Nana isn't the confrontational kind. So.......I didn't complain. But I was very disappointed and upset that such a lovely milestone was marred by greed and a tired kitchen. Over inflated prices, poor experience We will never go back.
