John and his team were a blessing to us when they arranged our mother's funeral. He went above and beyond to find us the perfect venue and from start to finish the whole team were incredibly caring. Totally recommend them.

John and the team at Ensom Funeral Services were amazing to deal with and went above and beyond to ensure our Nana had the most suitable and cherished send off she deserved. John really understood what we wanted to achieve with such a small ceremony. We couldn't ask for more - would highly recommend them. Thank you so much.

John did better than a 5 star service for our family during an already difficult time, made more difficult by Covid. Hopefully no one needs his services too soon but when you do, John and his team are the best people for the job.

If there was less than 0 we would rate that! I have seen and been involved with many funerals but Jo the funeral director was the worst I've seen. First of which coming to the funeral wearing a floral dress. I have never seen a funeral director wearing a floral dress, all the other ones wear black pants/skirt suits, but Jo came wearing a floral dress as if she's going to a wedding. Jo was very culturally insensitive and disrespectful! Her behavior was absolutely horrifying during the service at our church. Jo was leaning over the pew, with elbow on the edge and resting her face on her hand or she sat with her legs crossed (knee over knee). That is absolutely disrespectful during prayer in a church. All other funeral directors stay outside and come in to ensure coffin is set correctly and then come back in to guide moving the coffin back to the car. But, Jo stayed inside the whole time and didn't follow our etiquette. At the cemetery, Jo was in the front, in the middle of the family, when she didn't need to be; she could have stood to the side to oversee things from afar. Jo was smiling throughout most of the burial, she should have had a neutral face as we weren't at a party. In our culture, our men are meant to shovel the dirt back over the coffin while the priest prays, and Jo forced the men to stop and brought in the digger while the priest was still praying to shovel the dirt back in. That was absolutely horrifying!! Other funeral directors don't bring the digger in until we are done, just to tidy up what we missed. We couldn't hear half the prayers because of the digger's loud noise. I went and looked up Jo's profile on the work website and Jo has a background in nursing, yet her cultural awareness is terrible for a nurse. I highly recommend doing cultural courses or asking people if something is appropriate before doing so. Never would we ever use this place ever again!!!
