We just finished a 16 day tour of the south island in the 'Tangerine Dream' and had a great time! Lyndon had the car setup perfectly, reliable and clean. The 1975 kombi is in amazing condition for its age but it did have its kinks which were all the more fun to figure out. We didnt think the car limited our adventure at all. If you love your kombi vans and your road trips, im convinced there isnt a better way to see New Zealand.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, I cannot say very good things about this company. It's a lovely experience driving around the North Island of NZ in such an old car. But even old cars should not be dirty and defective. Some defects made life difficult for us: Navman Navi only worked for a short time, passenger window crank no longer worked. No windows, no fresh air...reverse indicator didn't work, handbrake had to be pulled all the way to get any effect. Vehicle handover was carried out unprofessionally by the wife. The interior was dirty and dusty. Coffee cups hadn't even been cleaned. All in all, the condition of this vehicle frustrated me more and more every day. When I returned it, I asked for compensation. I ended up paying NZ$180 a day. There was no accommodation! I announced that I would then only have the (bad for him) rating left. He called me a blackmailer and a criminal. This person takes everything to the personal level, cannot deal with conflicts and becomes irrelevant. Despite his cool cars, I can only warn against such business partners.

We had a fantastic time in the Miss Sunshine van. Like stepping back in time and it worked brilliantly considering how old it is. We had one problem with the tyre and had to do an out of hours call out to repair it so we could be on the road again to get to the airport. Lyndon was great and refunded us the money. Really great company - can't wait until our next trip!

We can not recommend this company enough. Lyndon is a genius. We hired the little blue honeymoon suite for three weeks, traveling from Christchurch to Auckland - through all kinds of weather and terrain. The little van worked like a champ. To think this vehicle is over 50 years old and held up so well is a testament to all of the love and care that Lyndon has put into it over the years. Heres the thing ita a 1966 Kombi. So, you need to take that into account before you hire. Reading some of the negative reviews drives me a bit crazy. If you hire a 50-year old vehicle and complain about the windshield wipers and fridge light, youre kind of missing the point! The Volkswagen has its own magic - and you kind of need to enjoy the adventure of driving it. The van has so much soul, so much life, so many stories and so much personality, its hard not to fall in love. But you need to know youre going to travel a bit slower; you need to use your gears - NOT your brakes - on steep grades and listen to the van. Lyndon is a great guide and host - we had one minor issue on our last day. I called him and he picked up immediately and we figured out an easy solution. He was friendly, helpful, super inventive and knows as much as there is to know about his fleet. Ive hired old westys and Volkswagens all over the world, and this was my favorite experience. If youre looking for an adventure - something totally unique to share with someone you love - have an amazing place to explore awesome spots - go for it! If youre looking for a quick and super efficient way to get from point A to point B that drives you like you drive at home - call JUCY. Be sure to ask Lyndon ahead of time for roof racks and awning or any extras. And dont overpack. Have fun and go take a surf lesson with Mark in Tauranga Bay near Westport. Hell sort you out... Happy trails
