Preparation before starting home improvement project, NZ, Creating Design Clarity

My partner and I had just purchased a house which needed some work. Luckily we are not scared of getting our hands dirty and were happy to undertake what was required as we saw ourselves living here for quite a few years. As we stated our renovations we found that we had some differences in opinion on how things should look. We had an idea of what we wanted but did not have a master plan or design brief that documented aspects such as colour palettes and materials. At this point, we engaged with Kristinas Creating Design Clarity Ultimate Design Brief course. She got us both to do some exercises that got us thinking about our preferences -what she called my design personality. The results were really pleasing after the process my partner and I could see a way forward. From the test results we found that we actually had similar taste which made me feel more comfortable in discussing our choices as I could be assured that she was not going to choose some wacky colours. Although this speaks more about me and my frame of mind then hers! The reassuring part was I had confidence in what she chose even if I could not quite picture or see her vision which resulted in a smooth process.. Kristina has put a lot of effort into the various parts of this course, and it is well done. I also think that some people wont quite know the value until they go through the process, and so I encourage you to do the course and see the results for yourself. Take the leap!
