Warkworth Lodge

After driving many miles to this hotel, we learned on check in that they had no room for us, even though we booked months ago and had written confirmation of the booking from Expedia. They blamed it on Expedia! We learned from locals that this is not an uncommon practice by this hotel of overbooking then farming out confirmed guests to other places that are not the equivalent lodging. How could they not have known until we checked in that they had given our room to someone else? It is the lack of honesty that is most disturbing.

DONT STAY HERE! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY IF YOU EVEN BOOK IN WITH THEM. 2 weeks ago my partner booked in with them for 2 nights with 2 adults and 3 kids, They said give 48 hours notice if Cancelling etc. The very next morning we ended up canceling our booking due to Having a place to stay with family member. They said we had to pay $500 to them for the booking! I was mortified. I said no and hung up, told them our situation OUR HOUSE just burnt down so we couldn't afford to pay them that amount maybe $50 but not that amount and they went ahead and took $250 out. Big No! Don't go!!!!! Take your money!!!

We stayed here for a couple of nights. The accommodation is located near the highway, so we had a little problem sleeping. We were offered a different room and even got a little upgrade. The staff was super helpfull, forward thinking and open. Place is nice and has a vibrant vintage feeling! Very big shared kitchen as well. We enjoyed our stay
