Great experience especially just for a cruise to see some of the interesting sites along the west coast. If we had time possibly would of done a fishing charter

Unfortunately this charter didn't live up to the hype (or the price) We were left to it by ourselves, having to do nearly everything for ourselves with little help in guidance from the skipper. Very hard if you don't have much experience fishing. There were only 6 Rods to the 12 people on board so we had to take turns. When the hook came off the line, we stood around for a while waiting for a new one, then when given the rod back, the hook was nearly coming off again anyway. It seemed that the skipper just wanted to do as little as possible for the time we were on the boat. Was really disappointing and unfortunately wouldn't recommend this charter to anyone.

I would highly recommend this experience when you first get to Great Barrier Island. Firstly, it is a great way to get a sense of the island and topography and you will see dolphins and gannets. Secondly, Chris is the best skipper ever and a superb baker of amazing carrot cake. He is knowlegeable about the area, really friendly and made the day fabulous. In addition, he waited for me as my flight was delayed! Do not miss this!

We had a great half day fishing. Caught plenty of snapper. Will and Jack were great. Highly recommend this trip if you like catching fish.
