Its a fair way out and tucked away in the middle of no where its about 1hr30mins from Wellsford (roughly) which is the nearest town if you're needing petrol or shopping. The campgrounds were nice and tidy and the cabins cosy with plenty of room to pitch a tent as well if you were wanting to do that instead. Closest beach was about 15 minutes up the road (Birds Beach) which was nice. There are a few surrounding beaches as well but that would require a fair bit of driving AND walking if you're looking for some good fishing spots. We hired the Pukeko North cabin which came with 2 single bunk beds and a stand alone single bed @$25 per person per night and $10 for a baby per night. Linen was provided (blankets, sheets and pillows) and some storage space in the rooms. Kitchen and bathrooms were okay they also have a wheelchair access toilet. They have a washing machine which is $1 to use, no dryer. There is a large shed at the southern end of the camping grounds to hang washing if it rains and you'll also find some alpacas through the little gate between the trees at the back of the campgrounds as well. They provide some kitchen utensils/plates, cups etc. Kitchen has a microwave and stove top, didn't see an oven anywhere but they have a BBQ there and wifi too but you need to ask owner about them and you can only access wifi through their voucher system (ask owner) which you get from the owner. The owners seemed pretty laid back as well. No bon fires allowed.

A fantastic little Campground with great facilities, everything we needed. Dog friendly (not in buildings) and the golf club right next door. We had a fantastic meal at the club on Saturday night, excellent value for money and nice to meet some of the locals. Edith and Wally the hosts are lovely and extremely accommodating.

This place is actually AMAZING!! Slice of paradise. The owners are super lovely and I was very impressed by the facilities available. Bathrooms looks very new, hot water everywhere and great kitchen/dining area. And a stone's throw from Manakapua Island! You can walk out to a sand dune island and have a private beach. Definitely gonna recommend this place to anyone who will listen.

Campground is set amongst farmland, approximately 1.2 walk through farmlands to Kaipara Harbor (tidal go at low tide). Lovely spotlessly clean campground with new facilities, camp sites somewhat undulating but as fairly empty we had no difficulty finding a level site. Showers are free and washing machine cost a dollar to use, kitchen has great appliances and sinks with utensils and cleaning supplies available. Gas bbq free to use and cooks well. Hosts were friendly and laid back. We particularly enjoyed the quiet and star filled night sky. Would certainly come back again.
