Aside from the road leading to the location, this place was a breathtaking place to stay. The service from Melanie and the team was unmatched from the moment we arrived, ensuring our stay was comfortable. The front of house & housekeeping teams were all attentive and helpful. Upon entering our lodge we were greeted with a bottle of bubbly (which we returned, would be nice to be offered options but the gesture was very nice). The lodge's heat pump was already running which made it much nicer to relax in after enduring Auckland's humidity. The lodge is slightly dated however efforts have been made to modernise it - including wifi and a slick gas fire that would've been great if the weather was colder. While the dishes offered for both breakfast and dinner vary greatly, every single dish we ate was absolutely delicious. The chef(s) put a lot of effort into not only the presentation of the food but also the taste. I highly recommend the meatballs and cheesecake. Nothing could beat looking over the serene foggy area while enjoying breakfast (pictured). The road in is definitely flawed, likely voided the terms and conditions of our rental vehicle and probably degrades more and more as weather events intensify in frequency. Even on the grounds themselves - the road leading to our unit could use some love and drainage support to prevent recurrence. Overall though - highly recommended. Thank you for having us.

We wanted to take a moment to express our gratefulness for the exceptional service you provided during our wedding in December 2022. From the moment we arrived, your team went above and beyond to ensure that everything was taken care of and that our special day was nothing short of perfect. The attention to detail and personalised care that you showed to each of our family was truly remarkable. Your staff were incredibly professional, courteous, and attentive to all of our needs, making everyone feel welcome and at ease. The lodge itself was fantastic, rooms were clean with breathtaking views of Warkworth. Thank you, Graeme and team, for all that you did to make our wedding day one of the most memorable days. Your commitment to excellence and dedication to ensuring that everything was just right did not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for your exceptional service.

We stayed here in mid January for our honeymoon which was noted on our booking emails. The stay was OK but the lodge is definitely falling short of the level of luxury that was expected at the price point. Some things to note if you are thinking of staying here - the drive from Warkworth is 20mins along a pothole-filled single lane dirt road. Some parts of this road are especially uncomfortable and difficult to navigate in a hatchback, mainly right as you enter through the lodge gates. It's $110pp for dinner which was again falling quite short of what you would expect for the price point. Not only were they surprised by the fact that it was our honeymoon (no special welcomings in our room) but they had also scheduled work on our cabin for 8:30 in the morning which included hammer-drilling pilot holes through the wall behind the bed. I informed staff that this was not what we had imagined for our honeymoon and was told the GM would be notified. He never apologised to us. The next morning we had mowers and brushcutters at 9am. No TV, spa doesn't work, thank god there was wifi. The room was clean and very nice but that is about the peak of the experience. We will have to do a honeymoon pt2 somewhere else as this was very disappointing.
