Awfully long wait time! We arrived at 6pm with our two kids under 3 so we could have an early dinner. Food arrived at 7:20pm! We waited more than an hour for our food - which was unacceptable. While the waiters were apologetic, the management made no effort to send over complimentary bread or give us a discount or anything as an apology. Our children were sick of waiting (hungry and tired) by the time the food arrived. Ruined the whole evening. The table next to us was waiting a long time for their food as well so seems to be a systemic issue rather than a one-off. Food was tasty though. We planned on dessert but didn't have the patience to order any after such a long wait!

Mediocre food. Inept staff. We ordered drinks and dinner. The server had to come back a second time to ask for my drink order. There was a language barrier but it was more than that. I asked if she wanted me to write it down, she said no. A second server came over with a pen and paper to get my drink order for a third time and wrote it down. After waiting nearly 20 min our wine and cocktail were finally brought over. My very complicated cocktail? A vodka soda. Yep. It was like I was from Jupiter asking for some crazy drink that caused the staff to go into a tailspin. If you dont understand the most basic of drinks you probably shouldnt be working in food service. There are many places with great food in Rotorua, skip this spot.

It was our first night out in town and we decided to have a stroll down Eat Street. This Italian place instanly caught our eye, with its spacious outdoor seating area, fireplaces and large outdoor tvs. Fortunately, we were able to grab a table by the fire place without a booking (not usually possible on a Sat night up in Akl) and ordered the Fettuccine Tuscany and one of the chicken and tomato Pizzas to share, both were admittedly very delicious and would have to say this was one of the best Italian places we'd been to. Have been to a fair share up in Akl. Flavours and textures seemed bag on, so hats off to the chefs! Both dishes came out reasonably promptly, as it wasn't overly busy at the time and the staff seemed friendly enough. Had a glass of preseco and another drink to accompany this. Concluded the evening with a rather satisfying ice cream dessert and it came out to just under $70. Not bad for 2x mains, 2x drinks and a dessert!
