Volcanic Air

Thank you for taking us last minute on your VOLCANIC EXTREMES tour! The helicopter pilot was very experienced and knew a lot of the local history making the flight fun and well worth the price.

Had a fabulous few hours with the Volcanic Air team, taking the float plane over to the hot pools on lake Rotoiti. The pilot shared lots of information about the surrounding area, answering all our questions and taking off/ landing on the lake was a great novelty too. What a great combination of flying, fabulous views, learning more about the local area and of course, soaking in the hot pools! Totally recommend this trip.

We had an amazing trip with these guys. The pilot was really knowledgeable and was very good at pointing out what we needed to see and having plenty of good stories along the way. We always felt we were in good hands. I've never done one of these before. They always seemed expensive. Having done one I have to say I'd do it again. We got a great look at the entire area. Stopped for a swim at some hot tubs that was a treat. Saw spectacular countryside and landed back feeling we had a better sense of Rotorua and the surrounding area. My wife is not a good flyer but she never felt and anxiety with the calm and experienced pilot.

Took the longer Otter craft crater trip this time - shared with 8 others - window seats for everyone- amazing views on a perfect day!

Money well spent! Different tours, plane and heli. We took heli flight and it was amazing. It was first heli flight for my parents, they were so excited! You can choose different trips and there are different pricing as well. Some trips require 5 people to book. We took the one thats going on Mt Tarawera (volcano) and have some walking time up there, costs 550$ for each. Flight takes about 15/20 minutes in total from lakefront to volcano. It should be around 20 min walking time on top of Mt Tarawera, but depending on weather. We got some 10 minutes, because rain and clouds were closing in so we had to manage to leave before. Anyway it was worth it! Thanks lovely stuff for saying that I need to go up there with my parents. Recommended!
