Smart India Mount Maunganui

Honestly one of the best Indian restaurants Ive been to. The service was exceptional and incredibly friendly. Went with the mushroom masala which I thought was a bit of a rogue choice but ended up being phenomenal. Fantastic place and worth the visit. Big up.

I was recommended this place by a friend and sad to say the conduct of the employees was appalling. When I entered and went to order my food I was met with a glare and he angrily said "what do you want" after battling through aa fearsome language barrier I was finally able to order my food. While waiting for the food I went to another shop to purchase myself a drink as the inhouse drinks were very overpriced, when entering the stop the angry employee run over yelling at me I can't drink anything I didn't buy from them and asked me to put it outside (absolutely ridiculous) once my curry finally arrived 15 minutes longer then I was told the wait would be our order was wrong, (asked for individual rice) and was given cheesy naan bread (I'm lactose intolerant). After asking for it to be remade they told me I will need to pay again which is ridiculous. The staff reeked of incompetence and we're extremely rude to me. The final straw was once I got my new naan bread and could finally start eating I found multiple hairs in my curry. When asking for a total refund they demanded that I leave the store immediately and don't come back. If I could give a 0 star review I would and will be NEVER eating here again.

Brilliant food. Fast, well priced and has the best naan bread! Thin, crispy and really tasty. Had the balti, didn't disappoint. Thanks guys, great experience, will be back next time in the Mount. Try it out, reckon you will be impressed. Chur!!

We went here last night, wow what a pleasant surprise! The curries we ordered were both exquisite, we both shared what we had and they were delicious. The naan bread was lovely too, not too thick and doughy. The waiting staff were good too, with the chef coming to check we were enjoying our meals, also very friendly. It does not disappoint, good value to for money too!
