We have had fantastic support from BDO Tauranga with both of our businesses. Paul Manning has always given us sound advice when asked, and has always been available to guide us through situations where our knowledge has been lacking. He has been a pleasure to work with. Louise has been very helpful getting us up to speed with Xero. "Walk in Wednesdays" have been especially helpful in light of never worked on Xero previously. She has also been very efficient, cheerful and pleasant to work with, and always responded to my many questions. Our experience with BDO Tauranga has been really exceptional, and I have no reservations in highly recommending BDO Tauranga.

I used to be the Group CEO at a large Wellington family business. We used BDO extensively to audit the group for the shareholders. When I sold the business on, I moved to Auckland and immediately was contacted by an interested party to take a large share in a large National company. I used BDO and when I ended this business venture and went into business alone I again used BDO. You could say I was entrenched. Some of my accountants ended up partners in both Wellington and Tauranga and this started another journey of 9 years with BDO Tauranga. They referred to em as a very high net worth individual . I had a great relationship until my business manager and partner ( and by then friend) retired due to illness in his family. Another senior partner took over and after some time a great relationship was formed. This partner left after massive fall out with the senior partner leaving me and my entities vulnerable. BDO Tauranga couldn't care less about relationships, tenure or the vulnerability they left my companies and family trusts. They were dysfunctional at senior management team level and refused to release our accounts until every last cent was paid. There were mistakes all through our entities accounts, they showed indignation that we were leaving to get a more secure accounting base and they were making us pay. The decade plus of loyalty to them, the massive payments made meant nothing when they wanted to cause hurt and humiliation for leaving them. I advised them they were out of line but they ignored my new accountant, my pleas and our final payment saying they had posted a new invoice literally days after we had resigned from them and it needed paid. After paying in advance on a monthly basis between $24-50k a year every year for over 9 years they refused to pass our accounts stating (against their own statement) that we owed them $525 and they held our accounts refusing to send any of our accounts to our frantic new accountant , despite logic suggesting all other entities were fully paid up and only a few days of accounts were owed to them -assuming their accounts were correct- but no -they held every entity and refused to assist. I told them I would make this public on social media and I intend to show their unreasonableness , vexatious and unprofessional attitudes to everyone now. We did nothing but pay through the nose for accounting and don't deserve this treatment from staff who don't care less about loyalty. My advice is ring around and get another company Meanwhile I will be taking this insulting behaviour to the very top as I don't deserve this childish and abusive treatment.
