I underwent a blepharoplasties (eyelid correction) on both eyes on 5th March. I know 2 people who had this op 2 or 3 years ago and each said it was all quite simple and straight forward. I did not have that experience and found it all quite traumatic. The op itself was ok with good support from the assistant staff. I was given disolving stitches and had no eye coverings when I left surgery. I was given a lot of verbal information before I left but was in a bit of a grogggy state so did not take it all in. I was given an infomration sheet and told to return in 16 days time. After a week I would really have a appreciated a follow up call about my progress. I did ring but got very little support. I felt very uncomfortable with the 'lotion' on my eyelids and was not sure if what I was experiencing was normal. At the follow up visit I was told that my eyelids were as he expected. The doctor did not even inspect my eyes. I did not feel at all happy as I was still having pain when I touched the scars and there are 'lumps' of flesh at the end of each scar. I visited my local optician the next week and he found that there were still stitches in the 'lumps' at the outer edges of the lids. He managed to get one out but the other 2 did not come out until a week or so later after I had massaged the scars with Bio-oil. Two weeks later my optician confirmed that the stitches were gone. He advised that it may take 3 to 6 months for complete recovery. I also have cataracts and I have found that as a result of the op, I am aware of more light coming in but it is fuzzy light because of the cataracts. I therefore cannot appreciate the results of the op. I am organising to have the cataracts dealt with now but that of course, is another huge expense. I am disappointed with this experience. Two weeks since posting my review, I have had a phone call from Kent enquiring about my experience. He was most concerned and listened all my comments in a very positive way. He clarified some of my issues and was interested in my suggestions, in particular, about after an after-op phone call. I look forward to seeing Kent again to orgnaise the cataraxt operation.

Dr Chow recently removed my cataracts & replaced my lenses with one each of the specialised Alcon Panoptix & Alcon Vivity. I am absolutely delighted with the outcome. I dont need glasses at all & can see really well at all distances including reading small print. I highly recommend Dr Chow & his team to others needing cataract surgery.
