Have to be careful where you park as the grounds can be very muddy. Otherwise it's a fairly quiet place. However, the eight bucks per person is rather a rip off with no functioning toilets, etc. But great for a walk around the lake. A real shame to see so many weeds like blackberry and gorse taking over the pathways.

Not good after rain, muddy and big puddles

The campsite is closed but the notice is hidden on the (boarded up) toilet doors so it's no obvious when you pay. The original sign says it's okay for camping and not self contained. Nice views though but Okareka is better. Grass area was very muddy and rutted too.

Nice spot, but as March 1st 2023 it was closed for not self-contained camping. Bathrooms were closed.
