There's so much to see and it's fascinating and beautiful. Allow 2 hours for the 4 km walk so you have time to stop and look at each site along the way. Everything is well marked and you can follow along with the brochure to get information about what you're seeing. The boat trip at the end of the walk is well worth it! We saw so many incredible things, and the captain was a great tour guide! Very informative and engaging. You can take a shuttle bus back to the starting point from the boat dock or you can walk back. Highly recommended. Worth every penny of the cost. The website is easy to use and the staff are super friendly and helpful. My photos from Waimangu are some of my favorites overall from my entire trip.

(Translated by Google) I was impressed by the views of the trekking, it is really worth doing. On the way back they have a return bus that we were very grateful for at the time, in addition the driver will explain some things to you in case you are not one to read the signs on the road a lot.

Great way to learn about the geothermals. The self guided notes were informative and the boat around the lack is a must do.

Great way to spend a day. A fairly long walk into the valley with lots to see and interesting stops on the way. Take a boat ride on the lake and get a bus back. There is an app for this visit but I did not notice this until I finished. I suggest downloading before you get there but can't comment if it's any good or not.
