Chatterton Builders built our architecturally designed home for us from the ground up. We couldn't have been happier with their professionalism and the quality of work right through the process. Their communication was great as was their management of their own team of builders and the subcontractors. The completed build was on time and to budget. We have had no hesitation in recommending them to friends and family, and will certainly go to them first if ever we build again.

Chatterton builders built our new 460m2 house. We selected them out of a competitive process. A couple of things stood out from that. Firstly, they closely followed the instructions for the bid, perhaps suprisingly few builders do that. All details were given and prices were very clear and open book. Secondly their team came out on site and met us to discuss what we wanted. The team of builders were utterly excellent and the management of subcontractors was faultless. The build quality was such that to this day we have had no snags at all. Variations we requested were clear and fairly priced. People who post 1 star reviews should probably consider their own poor performance before blaming the builder. If you change things, it will cost you more obviously. In dealing with changes, Chattertons always discussed the implications and often suggested better alternatives. Brent is a hands-on person and was extremely helpful to us during the process. His builders remain our friends to this day. I throughly recommend Brent and his team. If you want a great high quality job done, to time and to budget, you wont get a better team.

I have worked with Chatterton Builders on multiple projects, they do an outstanding job and Brent and Claire are great to work with. I'm often impressed by their consistent communication and high quality workmanship. Highly recommend!

We engaged Chatterton Builders to build our new home while still living in Melbourne. Due to COVID travel restrictions we were unable to view construction, and the entire process was managed remotely. Chattertons proved to be not only skilled passive house builders but trustworthy, reliable and excellent communicators. Costings were always clear and budgets met. We gave Chatterton a budget of up to 500k to price a 130m2 extension on our existing house. It took 8 months for them to come back to us with a price without concept drawings received. Price came back over $6000m2, it would have cost over $800k to complete the build. They sent us a bill for a total of $6500 with nothing to show for it. We explained we had a budget to work within at the start and during the process asked if we were still within budget. To date we still haven't received concept drawings. They sent us a bill for concept drawings we didn't receive. They didn't respond and instead had lawyers send us a letter. Disgraceful unprofessional behavior in our view
