Riverstone Motel

Great stay! The owners were super friendly and very welcoming. We had discussed about coming with a car trailer and on arrival the owners had already reserved a spot for us and made sure we had plenty of room. Which was super helpful. Our room was very clean, nice shower and comfy bed. Shop-wise, everything was close by, so going out to dinner was easy. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. We will be back! Thanks Mike and Charlotte for your kind and welcoming hospitality.

My son and I recently went on a Lord of the Rings/Hobbit trip to New Zealand. It was difficult finding a place to stay that would leave us only a few hours away from Mount Sunday (Edoras) from our starting point on the south island from the ferry terminal in Picton. After a lot of research and looking at pictures, I took a chance on The Riverstone. I am so glad I did. Located in the smallish town of Rangiora, just northwest of Christchurch, it was perfectly situated for our destination the following day. The other hotels and motels we stayed at prior to our visit to The Riverstone had been hit or miss. Some were exactly what was advertised on their websites, some were not even close. I was so relieved when we arrived at The Riverstone to find that the rooms and grounds were even nicer that the pictures. I was extremely and immediately impressed. Our room was super clean, super fresh, had comfortable beds, soft linens and towels, and a lot of little touches that made our stay special. Keeping standards high is difficult, but at least as of March 7, 2023, they remain extremely high. You will not regret staying at The Riverstone.

We made a last minute booking at Riverstone, Rangiora and Charlotte was very welcoming and very easy to deal with. The room we had was spotless, cosy and very comfortable. Fresh flowers in the room and a lovely welcome to our place note. We were told of the tavern next door which we went to for a drink and dinner, the steak was great. Thank you Charlotte, we wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed more of your hospitality. Bill & Nancy Tauranga
