I recently completed the 4 day Grade 2 Certification course with Canterbury Kayaking. I had been kayaking for several years but had never received any formal training and having an entry into C2C 24 decided to attend a more formal course. I did research other providers but saw CK webpage, and Sam's video clips and felt this was the right fit for me. Sam and Will delivered an exemplary standard of instruction into the fundamentals and foundations into kayaking. The course was well administrated and executed throughout. Safety for all was clearly evident, balanced with Sam and Will's desire to see all participants develop and succeed. Training/skills evolutions were professionally delivered with clear explanations, demonstrations and then practice. They identified individuals skills and abilities, enabling them to deliver more tailored guidance for all, which they both did with humour, enthusiasm and encouragemnet (and patience). This environment gave us all the optimum opportunity to reach the required skill for certification. Going into the course I did have some degree of apprehensive about my own ability/skills, but the manner in which Sam and Will provided their instruction/guidance set me at ease, their knowledge, experience and passion for kayaking was overtly evident which facilitated an exemplary learning environment. On completion of this course my confidence increased exponentially and I feel set for C2C 2024. I very highly recommend Canterbury Kayaking, whether its for certification for C2C or general kayaking development.

Had an amazing experience doing the grade 2 kayaking course with Canterbury Kayaking. The course was very well structured building our skills and confidence each day. The instructors Sam and Will created a great team environment. The standout for me was the rolling lessons and how they taught you individually and specific to your roll, this really improved my confidence going down the rivers. Thanks for a great course!
