The walk starts uphill from the carpark and gradually goes flat half way of the track and goes uphill again till you reach the top. You can enjoy the view and cool breeze when you reach the top. If you also love downhill, this walk is good too- going back to the carpark, good work out for grip and shin muscles. It is undeniably well-known track for awesome view and good work out.

It's a relatively easy hike, the first part of it is fairly flat, it's near the end of the Rapaki Track where it is steepest ascending to the Summit Road. It takes about 30 minutes to walk up, a very popular walk on weekends. My only negative comment is due to the popularity, parking is rather tight due to the narrow road leading to the entrance.
