Francesca's Italian Kitchen Christchurch

I went on a dinner date to Francesca for my partner's Birthday. The night started off well, staff was nice and attentive. We ordered two starters, two drinks and two mains which were all tasty and brought out at an acceptable time. Unfortunately the night took a sharp turn. After we received our main dishes the staff completely ignored us. Once we finished our meal we waited for a waiter to check in on us, so we could get a takeaway container, as we did not finish everything. We tried unsuccessfully to get their attention, as they would not even look in our direction. This was incredibly frustrating as they were serving the table directly behind us. It is not hard to glance over at our table after serving others. To top it off, two of the staff members were play catch behind the bar. After waiting 15 minutes I went up to the bar and asked for one myself. I expect that when I go to a restaurant, paying $100+ for two people to be served accordingly. This experience was incredibly disheartening as it was a lovely start. I do not usually go out for dinner to "nice" places much, and after this experience I think it will be awhile before I do again.

Wonderful food at reasonable prices. Also had a bottle of very good wine. Thank you will definitely return

I love this restaurant. The food is tasty and so delicious. The place is cosy and very quiet.
