        If you are looking for a short term stay (especially if you are a new student coming to NZ and looking for a place to settle here in NZ), AVOID this place - Sonoda Hayashi because you have to pay so much of extra like admin fee, contingency fee etc etc additionally to your rent, but when you are leaving the place, you only get the contingency fee. For that also, you have to struggle a lot. They promised to refund the contingency fee (NZD300 out of NZD 700 total extra expenses) within 10 days but its been 2 months after leaving the room and they failed to refund it. They always mention the issues with their computer system. This incident has been occurred to many UC students. There are much affordable options out there. Check with UC accomodation team and also refer to UC accomodation options webpage. I appreciate the efforts by the office staff at Sonoda but the UniLodge administration procedures made me very dissatisfied about this place.
