Mt John Summit Circuit Track

Fantastic hike with beautiful views. Went during autumn and loved it. Couldn't imagine how awesome it would be during winter. Go up the long way first, to the right of the hot springs.

Two oldies (67 and 77) walked up from campground. Must rate one of best walks in NZ as views were spectacular. Cafe was a welcome bonus.

Luckily it wasn't a sandfly, but it sticks like a swarm of riverside mayflies. It is more comfortable to go up to the top by a different route than the lakeside route (the route that says 45 minutes on the sign) and then come down the same route.
