Glencree Estate

What an amazing place is Glencree Estate! The view from the chalet is beautiful with both the sea and mountains in sight. We had a great hike up the mountain with nice panoramic views and a nice encounter with a very friendly big Billy goat which was very cool. Besides that, Jenny made us feel very welcome from our arrival until the end and Becky is a great chef who made us this amazing diner so definitely worth visiting!!

Glencree is one of those unique destinations that you just don't want to leave. The beautiful private and peaceful setting of the chalets set high with spectacular views of the mountain ranges on the left and the ocean on the right. In front, flax bushes and other natives attract native birds and they are a lot of fun to watch. We stayed for only one night, but would love to come back for longer as it's such a great place for long walks, relax or get out and visit Kaikoura and nearby activities. The meals are delicious with local produce and the venison dish Becky prepared was to die for! Thanks for the lovely hospitality! We highly recommend Glencree and we'll be back!

Retired NZ Farmer /Vet and his wife ( a grandmother) on a south island roadie.... we are also in the hospo industry so we were keen to get onto the land, shoot a deer to take south and to stay a night...and it was Margo's 1st deer. So:- guide James was awesome, felt in safe and careful hands. deer everywhere and Margo got her 1st with a difficult shot. Wonderful inspiring scenery and very comfortable spacious clean accomodation. Lovely catered dinner and all round great hosts. We cant recommend this place highly enough and we'll tell our friends. Certainly not just for overseas visitors! Thank you Glencree.
