Very basic accommodation and kitchen/tv room. Grass not cut which for peak wend was not great first impression. Walkability: Close to great walking

We booked some cabins and campsites about 2 months in advance when the day for payment came they put their prices up with no notice prior so no time to look for something else. Powered site booked for $65 per night went up to $85. Then when we get there our campsites were not even together even though over the phone I was told we could get a site together and I put this on the form. The facilities were not that clean and there was a mouse running around in the kitchen. The only thing good about this place is it is near the forest so lots of bird song. The campground itself and service is very average. Nearby activities: The hanmer forest has great walks for all ages and mountain bike tracks.

Very quaint and clean holiday park. The apartments look to be mostly similar, with lots of light, well-supplied kitchenettes and able to hold four or five people. I had a nice chat with the proprietor when I checked in, and she and her husband have put a lot of work into maintenance of what is an older property. The shared bathrooms were large and clean. There is a nice area to walk around in and safe, covered parking for people in the rooms. Just across the road from a forest park, there are walks that will lead you right into town. I definitely would stay here again.

Tracey and the crew make this place the number one spot to stay in Hanmer. After a less than enjoyable experience at another local camp we reached out to Alpine (spoke to Tracey) and asked if there were any side by aside powered sites available (which we were promised at the last place only to find we were split sites for our family camp). This was right at peak new years time so we werent hopeful. Tracey shuffled a few things around and was able to make this happen. Our party of two camper vans, 6 people and 3 dogs had the best ever camp! The kids loved the playground and the treasure hunt which has been built for the kids by Tracey. We loved it so much we went back a few weeks later and took another family who also really enjoyed the stay. Thanks so much and see you next time!
