Amazing landscape architects. Katie at Billy Goat Landscape Architecture turned an ugly area overgrown with self-seeded trees and weeds into a beautiful garden admired by all who see it. The worst part of our garden is now the best! Katie spent a long time listening to us, talking to us about our garden desires and what we wanted to achieve. Our desires included retaining existing established trees and ensuring privacy from our neighbours. She was able to achieve these goals with a design of a beautiful space which brought many new elements into our garden. She did this so sympathetically and successfully that many people have commented that the established trees feel like a part of the design. Her design was very clever. For the planting, she used colour, texture, and theme not only to add much interest, but also to subtly tie together different parts of the garden. As well as multiple planting areas, Katie's design included a deck, pathways, rock walls, and a seating area. The garden feels calm and interesting, with lots to look at and explore. Despite being a relatively small area, Katie was able to create a sense of space and reveal features of the garden that we didn't know were there - she certainly uncovered huge potential that lay hidden to us! Katie is really friendly and was great fun to work with. She delivered her plans in person and spent time discussing them with us. She really listened to what we thought and was happy to make some adjustments - she kept telling us that it was our garden and that we had to be happy with it! We really felt like what she wanted most was to use her skills to give us a beautiful garden that we could enjoy, which is exactly what she achieved. She has great contacts with landscapers who did the physical work. She came to visit during the build to give advice and check on progress, and clearly had a good relationship with the landscapers. When it was time for planting, she spent the morning laying out the plants and talking things through with us - and even brought champagne! In summary, Katie is a talented, creative, fun landscape architect who will listen carefully to what you want and work hard to create a beautiful design which is perfectly suited to your land and your desires. We highly recommend her.

We had Katie from Billygoat Landscape Architects design a landscaping plan for our front garden which is on an elevated corner site. Katie was prepared to listen and give the advice that we needed. We are now in the process of planting and making the vision come together. Next summer we will get Katie back designing the back garden.
