After many quotes to get our foundations leveled we chose Precision Solutions. They weren't the cheapest but they gave a comprehensive quote on all that was included. They also assured me they could get the job done in my time frame of us being away. We were away for a few months overseas, we wanted to feel assured with a professional company looking after the earthquake repairs. While away and a week after the job start date I hadn't heard from them, I asked my neighbour if they had started work on the house yet. I then had to fire off a few emails and ask my mother to ring them to see when they were starting. Unfortunately I wasn't kept in the loop with delays. We had to extend our stay in Auckland (on our way home) a week. We arrived home to see that some of the cracks had been repaired and some hadn't. So I questioned why some were done and some wasn't. We were under the impression that they were all going to be fixed. A bit of a misunderstanding, but for some odd reason one of the boys took it upon themself to repair some of the cracks (which now have to be grinded out causing us more work). The crack repairs that were done are a rough finish and will need work in order to look good before painting. Part of the quote was to remove rubbish on site. They had smoothed out an area which was grass, with sand (we are built on sandy grounds) which meant I had to spend a few hours removing the sand and chunks of hard fill from my lawn so I could find dirt and be able to resow the grass. After getting a few quotes to get the superficial cracks fixed alarm bells were going off. One contractor showed us how one crack wasn't dry (4 weeks later) and asked us what they used. So after a lot of opinions and them hassling me for the final payment I told them I wanted a breakdown of products because something isn't right. They acted swiftly and got a guy out to meet us. He said they had a new product that they were trialing but this must have been mixed up wrong because it hadn't cured. He removed the stuff and used the epoxy that they had used everywhere else. After this had been completed I had an email by the director asking when I will be paying the final bill. Well as you can imagine after all of this I wanted to check with my insurance company that they are happy. Once I had my mind at ease I paid the final bill. I recommend when using anyone, question everything and always get a second professional to look over the work. Last thing you want is a botched repair that you have to fix again in the future.
