        We arrived at this caf just before 2 pm. The barista was friendly and welcoming. We ordered two flat whites. which were nicely presented and tasted good. The cabinet selection of food was poor and the kitchen was already closed. We ordered a curry vegan vegetable filo and a beetroot quiche which were served without side-salads or condiments. When we asked for some sauce the barista apologised and readily gave us some. My wife said that the quiche was the worst she had ever tasted; the feta was rubbery and the beetroot chewy. She felt ill after eating it. The filo was fine but bland without a side-salad or relish. It is a pity that Caf 131 let itself down. We hope that the owners of the caf can learn from this review and improve. This is a highly-rated caf. In letting itself down, it did not endear us to Methven.
