We hired Kumikos for our wedding and it was the most amazing location! The stunning views and garden where the perfect backdrop for our day. The accomodation is stunning everything is so well thought through and oh my gosh the beds!! Sue & Paul are beyond accommodating, such lovely hosts and we are so grateful they created such a beautiful home to share.

We stayed in Russell's cabins last month and loved our little off grid getaway. Absolutely stunning location, we arrived at the cabins after having lunch next door at Black Estate. The eco cabins are so well positioned to make the most of the bush and view. The outdoor shower was a treat, as too was the outdoor bath underneath a starlight sky. The linen, and furniture made for a very luxurious stay. Haven't been able to stop recommending the cabins to friends. Thank you Sue and Paul we will surely be back.

We had the most relaxing stay at Russells Cabins - the room was beautiful and cosy, and location was great being a 2min walk to Black Estate and the many other wineries close by. The outdoor bath was an absolute dream, which we enjoyed under the stars with a bottle of champagne. We'll definitely be back for another weekend away in Waipara!

After a sumptuous luncheon at Black Estate we retreated next door to Russells cabins at Kumikos. Three beautifully crafted cabins ( two sleeping, each with with double beds which turned out to be most comfortable), a living room along with adjoining decks, outside bath and outside shower, composting toilet, and a small outside cooking island. It was mid to late May, after a Canterbury cold snap. A piping hot bath after copious glasses of fine wine from neighbouring Black Estate before bed guarranteed a good nights sleep. All three of the pods provide expansive views over the Waipara valley to the snow covered hills to the west and the autuminal shades were spectacular. We will be back , with our push bikes for a leisurely explore of the valley and its numerous vineyards. Thanks Sue and Paul for an amazing escape.
